  • Tracking information
As you explore the site, I collect data like your IP address, browser type, operating system, and how you navigate. This helps me understand what’s working and improve your experience.
How I use your information?

Your information helps me:

  • Personalise your experience, so the site feels more relevant and enjoyable for you
  • Improve the website, your feedback and browsing habits help me make things better
  • Respond to you, if you get in touch, your details help me reply quickly
  • Run competitions and surveys, sometimes I need your information to manage giveaways or gather feedback

You can update your preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the links at the bottom of any email. If you’d like your data removed completely, just let me know.

Tracking and Cookies

I use cookies (small bits of data) to remember your preferences and make your visit smoother. They don’t collect personal information. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, but this might affect how some parts of the site work.

I also track general information like your IP address and how you move around the site. This helps me spot trends and improve content, but it’s never linked to your personal details.

Google Analytics with Enhanced Features I use Google Analytics 4 with Google Signals to understand how visitors use the site. This includes:

  • Demographics and interests (like age ranges and hobbies) to help me create more relevant content
  • Cross-device tracking, which recognises if you visit on your phone and later on your laptop
  • Remarketing capabilities, which means you might see ads for Obviously French elsewhere on the web
  • Conversion tracking to see which content leads to newsletter signups or product interest

This data is anonymous and aggregated – I see trends, not individual visitors. Google uses this information in accordance with their privacy policy. You can opt out using Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by adjusting your Google Ads settings.

Advertising and Third Parties

I work with trusted partners to show relevant ads, including Google’s advertising network which may show you ads for Obviously French on other websites based on your visit here (called remarketing). They may collect anonymous data for targeting, but they don’t receive your personal information. Occasionally, I link to other websites. These have their own privacy policies, so it’s worth checking them if you’re curious.

Security

I take security seriously and use measures like secured networks to protect your information from loss, misuse, or alteration. However, I can’t guarantee absolute security, no website can, so please be mindful of what you share.
